Keith grew up on a farm in his native Alabama and learned the value of customer service from his father’s propane gas business and his mother’s catering business. He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in theatre from Birmingham Southern College and had an extensive career in the performing arts in New York City prior to joining forces with his wife, Roberta, to open Keith Watson Events. Keith has numerous years of professional event planning experience working at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, Bankers Trust (Deutche Banke) on Wall Street, and Callaway Gardens resort in Georgia. Most recently Keith was awarded with the BizBash Award for Event Producer of the Year 2013.

Becky Bumgarner

Becky graduated from University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Advertising. She began her career as a marketing assistant at The Oaks Mall. Within two years she was promoted to Marketing Manager where she was responsible for merchant relations, visual merchandising, sales promotions, community events, and store grand openings. Her experience has allowed her to build exceptional communication and interpersonal skills—an ability to listen to a client’s vision and turn that vision into a reality through creativity and passion. Her modern style, approach, and eye for design make her the perfect fit for our corporate clientele for the past 6 years. The team would consider her as the “glue” that holds us all together! When she’s not working on a weekend it’s not uncommon for her to be traveling around the state for tennis tournaments for her two daughters.

Anna Bouwens

Anna brings with her an extensive background in events which include catering, sales, and owning her own event venue for 5 years, where she first worked with Keith as a client. She has a keen eye for style and impeccable details. She’s a people person, addicted to coffee, and one of the most genuine people you will ever meet! Her opinions often motivate the team to push the boundaries of design, creating the wow factor for all of her clients.

Giovanni Lugo

Giovanni doesn’t really fit into any mold. One day he’s creating marketing campaigns & managing our social media, and the next he’s helping design a wedding, assisting with florals or anything that’s “creative” (and that’s exactly what we love about him)! He’s a dreamer and an artist with a background in graphic design, marketing, and event planning. At the age of 24 he started his own custom invitation and graphic design studio where he polished his skills designing wedding invitations, and branding for business clients. His mutual passion for both events and marketing have made him the perfect fit for us.

David Appel

Personal Assistant to Mr. Watson

David earned his Bachelor of Arts in Classical Studies from the University of Florida. While still in college David worked for us part time on our setup and breakdown crew. Upon graduating we realized his tremendous work ethic and dedication would make him an asset to the team. His random outbursts of laughter keep us laughing with him during stressful times. If you need to know the origin of a word, David is your man!
David is extremely organized, keeps Keith’s schedule in line and will jump in and help wherever needed.

Roxann Gates

Warehouse Manager

Roxann brings with her 7 years of experience in the event industry as manager for a leading event rental company. Her family also owned and operated a 30,000 square foot Christmas and antique shop where she eventually took over the operations with her sister-in-law for over 20 years. She is our tent specialist! Roxann assists in all aspects of operations including customized site surveys, detailed CAD schematics as well as day to day warehouse operations. During the Holiday Season, you can find her at The Gilded Tree (our Holiday Boutique) wearing an elf hat helping customers find the perfect decor for their homes.

Nolan Hines

Director of Operations

Nolan graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Science in Animal Science and Agriculture. His passion for musical theater urged him to pursue a career in the arts. He met Keith while they were both performing in a stage show in a major theme park. After working as the lead male vocalist at the Jaragua Hotel and Casino in the Dominican Republic, and as a cruise director for Holland America, and performer for Delta Queen Steamboat Company he met back up with Keith in New York City working on numerous events and productions for the same catering company. Once Keith Watson Events was created in Gainesville, Nolan became the obvious choice to spearhead the operations department. He loves bringing challenging ideas to life. Nolan is affectionately known as our “warehouse monkey”, often seen climbing shelves, hanging from the rafters, or standing on the tops of ladders to get that perfect fabric swag! His great smile and fun-loving personality will brighten any room.

Travis Hurst

Travis started with us as an intern, and was quickly hired after he graduated from the University of Florida with his Bachelor of Science in Parks, Recreation and Tourism with a specialization in Event Management. His quick wit always makes him a favorite in long meetings and late-night event strikes. Our repeat corporate clients have come to expect his smiling face and charm at their events. Travis is strong willed and will do anything it takes to get the job done. His uncompromising work ethic and technical expertise have made him an indispensable part of the team.

Scott Mihalik

Production Manager

Scott began his career working in event production while living in Jacksonville, Florida. After completing his Bachelors Degree in Fine Arts with a concentration in Sculpture, he worked in the performance theaters of the Fine Arts Center at the University of North Florida and was exposed to an array of different productions. He then began working with an event production company in Jacksonville that focused on lighting installations and fabric design. He has a wealth of knowledge as a Sculptor, Fabricator, Stage Manager, and Audio/Visual Lead Technician to name a few. His ability to build and design, create custom content, and constantly test, and refine his processes, makes him a valuable asset to every production. As the newest member of our team, he brings a fresh perspective that challenges the status quo (which keeps us all on our toes)!
